Best Foundations

Hello again! Today I am here to talk about something that I cannot live without, FOUNDATION! This is one of my favorite makeup items. Foundation can be used for a full coverage look or light coverage look depending on the type you use. I personally like to have both on hand. I like to keep both on hand because I like a more full coverage look for nighttime and special events, but also like a light looks for daily use.

My favorite full coverage foundation is MAC Match Master. Mac offers 12 different shades that should pretty much match everyone. This foundation is great because it actually matches to your skin! I can use this foundation in the summer when I have a tan and in the winter when my skin is a little fairer. This foundation has a matte finish which makes it great when going out at night or for a special event. This foundation is also great for covering up blemishes. I like to use the MAC Match Master when my skin isn’t looking the greatest.  The Match Master has a pretty medium price range in comparison to some other brands and types at $38.00 a bottle.

My favorite light coverage foundation is Mac Studio Sculpt. Mac currently offers 19 different shades in this foundation. I love the studio sculpt because it is in between a dewy and satin finish. This is my favorite finish to wear during the day. The foundation is also light – medium coverage which is great for daily wear because it doesn’t feel like you have a ton of products on your face all day long. I prefer to use the Studio Sculpt for daytime and daily wear. This foundation also has a medium price range for $35.00 a bottle.

Favorite Makeup Palettes

Hello again! Today I am going to be talking about something that everyone needs in their makeup collection, a great eye shadow palette. This is one of my top recommended beauty products. With the right eye shadow palette you can create several different looks without having to buy individual eye shadows. Below I am going to go through my top two palettes and why you need them.

First we the original Naked Palette by Urban Decay. This would by far be my top recommendation. The eye shadows that are included in the palette are extremely versatile. The palette comes with 12 different colors ranging from light to dark and matte to shimmer. The colors are called Virgin ,Sin ,Naked ,Sidecar , Buck , Half Baked , Smog , Darkhorse , Toasted , Hustle , Creep , and Gunmetal. You can use this for a casual day time look or for a smoky night out. These eye shadows are a little more expensive at $54 but in my opinion totally worth it because it can be used to create at least 20 different eye looks.

My second recommendation would be the Urban Decay Naked basics palette. If you are looking for something a little simpler this is the one for you. The basics palette includes 6 different colors. The palette is primarily matte but does include one shimmer which is great to use as a highlight. The colors include Venus , Foxy , Walk of Shame , Naked2 , Faint ,and Crave. I use this palette on a daily basis for work and find it to be perfect. I can still add some dimension with my makeup but it is not too much, more on the simple side. The basics palette also comes at a better price point of $29.

I hope you all have fun trying out these recommendations. Let me know how you like them in the comments below!

Fall Nail Polish Staples

Hello again! Fall is finally upon us! This means we can finally start wearing those fall nail polish colors. Fall nail colors have got to be one of my favorites. I find the colors to be extremely rich compared to the usual brighter colors we see in the spring and summer. In order to achieve great looking nails there are a couple things we will need. 1. Base Coat 2. Nail Color 3. Top Coat. Below I go into detail about my favorite base coat, favorite two colors, and the best top coat.
Step 1- Base Coat
Base coat is extremely important for ensuring that your polish lasts. For me, if I don’t use a base coat, then my polish will chip within a couple of days. My favorite product for this is the OPI Natural Base Coat. I have been using this product for several years and have no complaints. It goes on easy and dries pretty quickly. I find that when I use this base coat my polish lasts up to 7 days before starting to chip. One big problem I have with some other base coat products is that they “shrink” the nail polish. It ends up looking like you did not put polish on your entire nail; this does not do that!
Step 2- Nail Color
Now I am going to talk about my two absolute favorite colors for fall! My top two colors are OPI Lincoln Park AfterDark and China Glaze Salsa. Lincoln Park After Dark is an extremely dark purple. When you are in the sun you can see the hints of purple peek though, but the color almost looks black. This nail polish is perfect for fall because of the dark tone. It also goes good with any outfit! Salsa by China Glaze is a brighter for people who may not like to have super dark nails. I specifically like to wear this color closer to the holidays. It makes the perfect transition at the end of fall close to winter.
Step 3- Top Coat
The top coat is extremely important. This along with the base coat, prevents the polish from chipping. I personally love to use OPI Top Coat. I find this particular one to be extremely shiny which I adore. Nothing makes a polish look better than a shiny top coat. This product by OPI also does a great job ensuring that the polish does not chip. When I use the top coat and base coat together I find that my polish lasts much longer than when I use just one of them or none of them.
